Dayton Flyers Suffer Doubleheader Losses to George Mason
The University of Dayton baseball team faced a tough day against George Mason, losing both games in their doubleheader on Saturday. In the first game, the Flyers struggled offensively, managing only five hits and one walk, resulting in an 8-0 defeat. Despite a solid pitching performance from Peyton Malecha, who allowed just one earned run over five innings, the bullpen faltered, giving up six runs late in the game. Michael DiMartini was notable for Dayton, contributing two hits.
In the second game, Dayton fell behind quickly, trailing 6-0 after the first two innings. Although they scored twice in the third, George Mason responded with a three-run inning and added more runs in subsequent innings, leading to an 11-5 final score. DiMartini again stood out with another two-hit performance, while teammates Rylan Lujo and Adin Zorn also contributed with two hits and an RBI each. The Flyers will next face Ohio University and Bowling Green in their upcoming games.
